Cal-Arrest™

An important aspect of the decalcification procedure is stopping decalcification and removing all remnants of the decalcifier from the specimen. Acid carry over into the tissue processor can cause problems with staining later on. Cal Arrest acts quickly to stop decalcification and remove all traces of the decalcifier. By rinsing your decalcified specimens in Cal Arrest, you will reduce the risk and over decalcification and will enhance the quality of most staining techniques.

Iron Stain Kit

Each Stain Kit Consists of 1 Unit of Iron Stain and 1 Unit of HcL Solution. Solutions should be mixed equally prior to use. Fixed preperations should be stained for 10 minutes and then rinsed in Deionized Water. Results: Hemosiderin and Ferritin stain blue. Iron bound hemoglobin is unstained.
